2. The Bharat Scouts and Guides
Theme: Service and Preparedness
Scouting and Guiding is a voluntary, non-political educational movement for young people. It focuses more on outdoor “woodcraft” skills and community service.
Focus: Character development, citizenship, and “learning by doing.”
Key Activities: Camping, knot-tying, first aid, community service, pioneering (building structures with poles/ropes), and environmental conservation.
The Goal: To contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, and social potentials as responsible citizens.
Motto: Be Prepared.
Why join? It teaches practical life skills, survival instincts, and a deep sense of social responsibility through the “Good Turn” philosophy (doing one good deed every day).
